fortmyersThe Lee County, Florida real estate market is leading the nation in housing recovery..  It’s only fair…..since they have suffered the greatest price / value drop among most of the cities in the nation. 

Home inventory is dropping drastically.  Lee County, FL inventory is down 21% since this time just last year.  See the following statistics for Lee County regarding inventory of homes PER BUYER:

  • Cape Coral:  On March 1, 2008, the average homes per buyer was 12.32.  On March 1, 2009, the average homes per buyer dropped to 3.55
  • Fort Myers:  On March 1, 2008, the average homes available per buyer was 19.99.  On March 1, 2009, the average number of homes available per buyer dropped to 5.44
  • Lehigh Acres:  On March 1, 2008, the average number of homes available to buyers was 16.89.  On March 1, 2009, the average number of available homes to buyers dropped to 5.08.

Now is a great time to buy in Southwest Florida.  By the time you see the “good time to buy” in this area on CNN or the news, the opportunitic time will be long gone.
